The potting shed, the kitchen and the stairs are just some of the more unusual places the sex-hungry over-50s choose for their passion, it has been revealed. A new study says most over-50s (54.9%) believe they are having the best sex of their lives. And a fifth of all people over the age of 50 have sex two or three times a week, while 7% claim they make love four times a week or more. The survey, commissioned by the chocolate bar company Complan Active, quizzed 8,000 people over 50 about their romantic habits. A third of all those questioned confessed to having sex outside, a fifth said they made love in the car and 2% claimed to have joined the Mile High Club. In the home, a significant 43% have sex in the living room, 29.6% in the bathroom, 19.8% in the kitchen and 9.3% in the conservatory. For the little more creative, 13.6% admitted to having sex on the stairs while 3.1% opted for the potting shed. Psychologist Donna Dawson said: "Most over-50s feel no different than they did when they were 30, and don't see why they should lose their zest for life. "They may no longer be out to shock other generations, but they still crave excitement and fun in their sex lives. "Being more comfortable with their own bodies and self image means older couples are less inhibited. This allows them to be more adventurous than perhaps they could be when they were younger." |
