TimeSplitters: Future Perfect

Finally, the TimeSplitters series is going online! The third TimeSplitters game sees you reprising the role of Cortez as he travels through time to save humankind.

Preview of TimeSplitters: Future Perfect

TimeSplitters: Future PerfectThe evil TimeSplitters are back to raise hell in EA's TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Playing as a man named Cortez, you track the evil aliens across eleven past and future missions, annihilating them with all sorts of weapons, but you won't do it alone! During gameplay, you'll actually receive help from yourself as you race against time to ensure your survival. Take out enemies, unlock doors, and perform other assorted tasks so your other self can make it to safety! However, don't think that developer Free Radical has spent all of its time tweaking the single player. The game still features a robust online multiplayer mode. While you can duke it out offline in split screen deathmatch and co-op, 16 gamers can battle on Xbox Live and Sony's online service. It's even possible to create and share maps! Set to release in 2005, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, may be the most intense console first person shooter ever created.

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect will also feature the arcade mode TimeSplitters: Future Perfectfound in the previous games, with all of the options and medals that you'd expect to see in such a mode. Online play is the huge new addition to the TimeSplitters series. TimeSplitters: Future Perfect will support the PS2 network adapter as well as Xbox Live, and both games will be playable by up to 16 players in a variety of modes. The game on display was basically a version of Unreal Tournament's assault mode, with one team trying to breach a prison to assassinate a prisoner while the other team attempted to defend various positions. You start to get closer and closer to the action as you move forward on the attacking side. In all, the game will ship with 10 multiplayer maps and others modes, like king of the hill and deathmatch.

Thus far, the only negative thing about TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is its ship date! 2005 is simply too far away. However, I'm sure Free Radical will use the time wisely to make TimeSplitters 3 the ultimate multiplayer experience, and that is certainly worth waiting for.
